Overview
Airward Key presents a quieter, wilder face of the archipelago. Dominated by dense buttonwood hammocks, tidal salt flats, and military radar tethered aerostat installations watching the southern straits, the key provides a stark contrast to the commercial resort strips of the northern keys. In gameplay terms, Airward Key is a natural staging area for clandestine operations and low-altitude radar evasion. The expansive mangrove creek networks offer excellent concealment for shallow-draft skiffs avoiding aerial detection. In the real world, Airward Key is inspired by Cudjoe Key (home to the famed "Fat Albert" radar blimp) and Big Pine Key in the Lower Florida Keys, known for untamed wilderness and quiet rural living.
